The Howard O., Jr., and Jean S. Beaver Endowment for Community Service honors a student that has demonstrated a distinguished commitment to their community, often through community service. Service is the selfless act of giving back to society.
Award
- Framed Certificate
- Up to $500 cash award credited to the recipient's bursar account.
- Engraved plaques to be displayed on campus honoring these and subsequent winners
Eligibility
Consideration for this award shall be given to all full-time and part-time undergraduate students, faculty and staff enrolled or employed at Penn State Berks.
Criteria for Judging
- Demonstrated volunteerism and service to the Penn State Berks campus community
- Made significant contributions for the betterment of the campus and/or surrounding community
- Been actively involved in a wide array of services orientated activities and/or programs.
- Nominations should include why the nominee deserves to be chosen for this award, and how their performance positively impacted students and enhanced the Penn State Berks community
Procedure
- Nominations accepted from any Berks student, faculty, or staff member. Self-nominations are also accepted.
- Nomination must include:
- Nomination Rationale outlining the nominee’s qualifications for the award as they relate to established criteria (see below)
- Nomination Form (see below)
