Purpose
The purpose of this award shall be to recognize undergraduate students enrolled at the Commonwealth campuses whose outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and citizenship have been directed into programs and services that have positively influenced fellow students and have contributed to the prestige and well-being of their campus and, hence, to the reputation of the University as a whole.
Funding of Award
Funds for the certificates and medallions have been contributed by Eric A. and Josephine S. Walker.
Eligibility
Consideration of this award shall be given to all students enrolled at the Commonwealth campuses who are completing two full years of undergraduate study in either an associate degree or baccalaureate degree program and who during this period of enrollment has consistently demonstrated those qualities which the Eric A. and Josephine S. Walker Award honors. A student at any location who has previously received the award at another campus is ineligible.
Nature of the Award
The recipient of this award at each campus shall have his/her name suitably engraved on a plaque, which shall be permanently displayed at the campus. In addition, each recipient will receive a certificate and an appropriate plaque or medallion.
